Introduction to Personalised Incontinence CareOverviewIn the world, there are some 200 million people suffering from incontinence. In Australia, there are over 3.8 million incontinent adults. The problem has always been around, but with a growing population of elderly people who are living longer, we are seeing more and more people with incontinence. This thirty minute course will provide an understanding of the different types of incontinence and their causes, and the kind of care someone affected by incontinence requires. This course provides an introduction to the area of incontinence care. The course explains the different types and causes of incontinence, basic anatomy and physiology as it relates to incontinence care and the range of treatments and lifestyle interventions available. The course has been designed for carers, nurses and managers within aged care facilities.
