Assist with Self Medication

Overview

The Assist with Self Administration of Medicines course is designed for carers providing home care, as well as those working in care facilities, and develops an understanding of the principles and procedures around providing assistance with medication.

Learning Outcomes

At the end of the course, the learner should have:

  • A practical understanding of the legal and procedural requirements for providing assistance with self medication
  • The knowledge of commonly used medication related terms and acronyms
  • An understanding of key medication management concepts
  • A Practical understanding of procedures to follow to handle a range of contingencies that may arise
